Former Arkansas wide receiver Cobi Hamilton is reportedly returning to the Pittsburgh Steelers next season.
PennLive’s Jacob Klinger reported Hamilton re-signed with Pittsburgh on Thursday. He was an exclusive rights free agent, which meant the Steelers had to make him an offer before the new league year started March 9 to prevent him from becoming unrestricted.
Hamilton started 9 games and played in 14 this season. Before 2016, he never played in a regular-season game in his first 4 years in the NFL.
The Steelers promoted the former Razorbacks receiver from the practice squad in Week 6 after Sammie Coates injured a finger.
Hamilton had 21 receptions for 285 yards and 3 touchdowns this season. He added 4 catches for 51 yards and a score in the playoffs. He also returned kicks late in the year.
Before 2016, Hamilton’s only NFL experience was in preseason games and a playoff game in January 2015 when he played for the Bengals.
