FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas is No. 5 in the Week 10 SEC Country Power Poll following a 31-10 win over No. 11 Florida.
The Hogs (6-3, 2-3 SEC) moved up from No. 6 in last week’s poll. The poll consists of 26 media members from SEC Country and around the nation.
Arkansas received votes in the AP Poll and coaches’ poll, but did not reenter the Top 25 in either. The College Football Playoff Rankings will be released Tuesday.
The Razorbacks much-maligned offensive line was one of the keys to victory Saturday. The unit paved the way for 223 rushing yards, 148 of those from sophomore running back Rawleigh Williams III.
Run defense was also drastically improved for Arkansas. The Hogs allowed only 12 rushing yards after surrendering a school-record 543 in a loss at Auburn two weeks ago.
It was Arkansas’ first win over Florida since 1982 and first-ever in a SEC game.
Arkansas will host LSU (5-3, 3-2) on Saturday (7 p.m. ET, ESPN). The Tigers fell to No. 1 Alabama 10-0 and are No. 4 in the SEC Country poll.
LSU, No. 19 in the AP Poll and coaches’ poll, is the fifth consecutive ranked team the Razorbacks have faced. The Tigers were No. 13 in the most recent College Football Playoff Rankings.
Arkansas opened as a 7-point underdog to LSU on Sunday. The Hogs, who were also not favored against Florida, are 3-3 as an underdog this season.
Check back next Sunday to see where Arkansas stands in the Week 11 SEC Country Power Poll.
