FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas is No. 3 in the latest SEC Country Power Poll after a 34-30 win over Ole Miss on Saturday night at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
The Hogs (5-2, 1-2 SEC) moved up from No. 7 in last week’s poll. Ole Miss (3-3, 1-2) dropped from No. 4 to No. 7 in the poll. The poll consists of 20 media members from SEC Country and around the nation.
The Razorbacks are No. 17 in the AP Poll and coaches’ poll.
Arkansas needed a 6-yard rushing touchdown from wide receiver Jared Cornelius to climb out of a 30-27 deficit with 2:20 remaining.

The Rebels couldn’t respond as quarterback Chad Kelly was laid a heavy hit from Hogs safety Santos Ramirez that resulted in a fumble out of bounds on fourth down moments later. The Hogs celebrated franticly, knowing they’d clinched their first SEC win this season.
One of the keys to Arkansas’ win was its success in the running game, led by a 27-carry, 180-yard performance by sophomore running back Rawleigh Williams III. Freshman running back Devwah Whaley added 65 yards on 11 carries as the Hogs finished with 200 yards on the ground.
Arkansas quarterback Austin Allen continued his steady play with another exceptional game, connecting on 19 of his 31 pass attempts for 229 yards, 3 touchdowns and an interception.
The Hogs have now won three straight in the series with Ole Miss.
Arkansas shifts its focus to its first true SEC road game against Auburn (4-2, 2-1) at 5 p.m. CT this Saturday. The Tigers are coming off a bye and No. 6 in the SEC Country poll.
Check back next Sunday to see where Arkansas stands in the Week 8 SEC Country Power Poll.
