Arkansas is No. 7 in the latest SEC Country Power Poll after a 56-3 blowout loss at Auburn on Saturday night.
The Hogs (5-3, 1-3 SEC) moved down from No. 3 in last week’s poll. Auburn (5-2, 3-1) is No. 3, three spots up from last week. The poll consists of 22 media members from SEC Country and around the nation.
The Razorbacks fell out of the AP Poll and coaches’ poll after being No. 17 in both last week.
Auburn rushed for 543 yards Saturday night, the most Arkansas has ever allowed in a game and the most ever for the Tigers in a regular-season SEC contest. Running back Kamryn Pettway led the way with 192 yards and 2 touchdowns on 27 carries.
With the Tigers rushing for 7 touchdowns, Arkansas has now allowed 24 rushing scores this season, seven more than any other SEC team.
The Hogs also continued to struggle protecting quarterback Austin Allen, who sustained a right knee injury and was forced to exit the game briefly in the second quarter and for good in the fourth. Arkansas surrendered 4 sacks Saturday and ranks last in the SEC with 21 allowed on the season.
The poor performance even left some fans calling for the jobs of defensive coordinator Robb Smith and offensive line coach Kurt Anderson.
Arkansas now heads into a bye week before shifting its focus to a Nov. 5 clash at home against Florida (5-1, 3-1). The Gators will face Georgia this weekend and are No. 6 in the SEC Country poll.
Check back next Sunday to see where Arkansas stands in the Week 9 SEC Country Power Poll.
