Tight end commit Patton to visit Utah
Arkansas 2017 tight end commit Jeremy Patton from Arizona Western College is set to visit Utah this weekend, according to the Utah Man Podcast. The Utes, who were the first program to offer Patton, face Southern Cal at 8 p.m. CT on Friday.
Patton (6-foot-6, 230 pounds) is a 4-star prospect and one of the Razorbacks’ highest-rated commits. He is the No. 4 overall junior college prospect and the No. 1 tight end. He committed to Arkansas in June after a visit to Fayetteville.
Arizona Western coach Tom Minnick told SEC Country this summer that the Razorbacks appealed to Patton because of the program’s recent trend of sending tight ends to the NFL.
Patton is the only tight end among Arkansas’ 19 commits in the 2017 class.
Hogs target out for season with torn ACL
Hogs 2018 wide receiver target Jammal Houston will miss the remainder of his junior season for John Ehret High School (Marrero, La.) with ACL and meniscus tears in his knee. SEC Country’s Sam Spiegelman reported the news.
Houston (6-2, 180) is a 3-star prospect. He is also being recruited as a defensive back with offers from Arkansas, LSU and several other FBS programs. He is the cousin of Razorbacks freshman linebacker De’Jon Harris.
Houston had 12 catches for 182 yards and 2 touchdowns through three games this season.
