In a word: Wow.
Saturday’s game between Arkansas and Auburn was about as crazy as they come. It took four — count ’em — four overtimes for the Razorbacks to emerge victorious, 54-46.
A total of 52 points were scored in the overtime periods alone. The game was chippy throughout, especially after Arkansas running back Rawleigh Williams was carted off the field after a hard hit left him with a neck injury in the third quarter. But needing a two-point conversion to keep the game alive, quarterback Brandon Allen rolled out and fired an improbable pass into the end zone to give his team a chance to keep playing, and then the senior delivered the game-winning score with a 52-yard strike in the fourth overtime.
This battle was long and grueling. But under gloomy skies at Razorback Stadium, you can watch the players celebrate in pure, delirious happiness in the clip below.
