The Arkansas Razorback football family was embarrassed by the outcome of a blowout loss at Auburn on Saturday. And there certainly is enough blame to go around in all facets of the program after a 56-3 loss in a SEC West showdown.
But former Razorbacks offensive lineman Mitch Petrus singled out one unit in particular in the aftermath of the loss — the Arkansas offensive line. Razorbacks QB Austin Allen took plenty of hits on Saturday, and the running game managed just 25 yards on 31 carries (0.8 yards per attempt) during a nightmarish offensive performance.
Making an appearance on FOX 16 Arkansas, the former NFL lineman lit into the big guys up front for the Hogs.
“I’ll take this whole game and put it on the offensive line,” Petrus said. “It’s all your fault, offensive line. The front five up front. I’ve never seen a game where guys don’t care as much as yesterday. Our chips are down and we started getting beat, and we just give up.”

Petrus was visibly upset about the effort he saw from the players who play his position at his alma mater, closing out the clip by saying: “I wasn’t a naturally great, gifted offensive lineman. I wasn’t a guy with really long or arms or with great speed. I just tried really, really hard, and that got me a long ways. To try hard. And these guys– I want to see some more ‘try hards’ out there. That’s what we’ve gotta have.”
