3 things every Auburn fan needs to know today
Auburn enters Week 5 of the college football season with a 2-2 record. The Tigers will play San Jose State at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday and it is Homecoming week. Kickoff is at 4 p.m. ET and will be televised on the SEC Network.
Auburn is now last in the SEC West after losing to LSU and Mississippi State in consecutive weeks. The Tigers will likely need to win the rest of its conference games and get help from other teams to get back in the division race.

- Defensive coordinator Will Muschamp was pleased with Auburn’s defensive effort on Saturday. The defense took a step forward in the defeat, but Muschamp is still not satisfied.
- Linebacker Tre’ Williams missed Sunday’s practice with a leg injury sustained in Saturday’s loss to Mississippi State, but he is expected to return to practice on Monday. Williams started the game and had three tackles, one tackle for loss, and one hit on quarterback Dak Prescott.
- Freshman running back Kerryon Johnson seems eager to get more opportunities on offense. The freshman carried the ball five times for 28 yards and caught three passes against Mississippi State.

- Auburn announced that it was firing baseball coach Sunny Golloway with cause. Golloway has been the coach for the previous two seasons and told AL.com’s Brandon Marcello that he did nothing wrong. Assistant coach Greg Norton will take over until a replacement for Golloway is found.
- Auburn’s head men’s basketball coach Bruce Pearl picked up a big commitment from 5-star 2017 forward Austin Wiley on Saturday. The Tigers beat out schools such as Duke, Kansas, and North Carolina for Wiley. He is the first commitment for Auburn’s 2017 class.
