Make Jordyn Peters the 14th commitment in Auburn’s 2017 recruiting class.
Peters, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound safety from Muscle Shoals (Ala.), joined the Tigers verbal commitment list Friday morning with an announcement on Twitter. Peters selected Auburn over his other two finalists, Virginia Tech and Ole Miss. Mississippi State, Louisville and Duke were also listed in his top 6, but those schools weren’t included among his commitment day options.
He used a commitment video via 247Sports’ Keith Niebuhr to confirm his choice.

A 3-star safety, Peters became the fourth exclusively defensive addition to the 2017 class and the second safety along with fellow 3-star Carlito Gonzalez from Stephenson (Ga.) High School, though a few of Auburn’s four commits listed as athletes could fit into the defensive back rotation.
Peters’ commitment came on the same day as his high school senior season-opener.
With Peters, Auburn remains at No. 12 in the 247Sports composite rankings, in fifth among SEC programs.
