Auburn junior quarterback Jeremy Johnson was benched in favor of redshirt freshman Sean White after a 45-21 loss to LSU in Week 3, but Johnson will get another chance to start on Saturday.
Johnson will start for the Tigers when they kickoff against Texas A&M at 7:30 p.m. ET, the school announced. Johnson was prepared to start last week against Ole Miss after White injured his knee in the previous game, but White was named the starter shortly before kickoff.
Johnson came into the season as a Heisman Trophy contender, but he struggled as the starter throwing six interceptions in three starts. He has played briefly in wildcat and goal line packages since White took over in Week 4 against Mississippi State.
On the season, Johnson is 44-of-75 passing for 517 yards with five touchdowns and the six interceptions. He also has three rushing touchdowns.
Auburn coach Gus Malzahn told AuburnTigers.com that White is only available in an emergency situation, and Jonathan Wallace will be the backup quarterback.
