AUBURN, Ala. — Although Auburn running back Kerryon Johnson and center Xavier Dampeer both went through pregame warmups Saturday afternoon, the Tigers are shaking up their starting lineups ahead of a key matchup with No. 17 Arkansas.
Sophomore running back Kamryn Pettway, who had 39 carries in Auburn’s most-recent victory against Mississippi State, is getting the start over Johnson against the Razorbacks.
The Tigers are also keeping the same starting lineup on the offensive line from their last two wins — Austin Golson at center and Darius James at left tackle. Dampeer hasn’t played since the LSU game, when he played through an undisclosed injury.
On the defensive side, Stephen Roberts will get the start Saturday over Nick Ruffin at free safety. The rest of the lineup for Kevin Steele remains unchanged.
At wide receiver, seniors Tony Stevens and Marcus Davis will start with redshirt freshman Darius Slayton. Marcus Davis has recovered from a hand injury to return to the starting lineup after seeing his chances severely decline in recent weeks.
