The Auburn baseball team’s season-long eight-game road trip hasn’t gotten off to the most ideal start. The Tigers were in College Station, Texas, over the weekend, but took a series loss to the Texas A&M Aggies.
Tuesday night will provide an opportunity to turn this travel trip around, however, and allow for another chance for revenge. While Butch Thompson’s team has gotten off to its most successful start in recent history (24-10), one of its losses so far this season was to Samford at Plainsman Park in February.
Now Auburn baseball will have a chance to hand the Bulldogs a home loss of their own.

Auburn baseball vs. Samford: What you should know
Freshman Taylor Garris is leading the Bulldogs at the plate with a .387 batting average, but Samford isn’t fairing too bad as a team, either. Kevin Williams Jr., a junior college transfer, has also added 10 home runs and 24 RBIs. As a team, the Bulldogs have hit 32 homers.
Not too shabby from the mound, either
Wyatt Burns has proven to be a force from the mound for Samford this season. The closer currently leads the nation in saves (12) and has a 2.16 ERA (2-0). before Auburn has to deal with Burns they’ll likely face right-hander Cody Shelton, who’s ERA is 1.75 (3-0) after four starts and eight total appearances.
