Auburn baseball is beginning its season-long eight-game road trip with a visit to the Lone Star State.
The Tigers started the week earning the highest ranking in the Baseball America Poll (No. 7) since 2004. On Tuesday, rival Georgia Tech traveled to the Plains and Butch Thompson’s team stumbled after a back-and-forth game, eventually falling, 11-8.
College Station could be the place to get back on track, but it won’t be easy. Auburn and Texas A&M have only met 12 total times, but the Tigers trail in the series (7-5) and have struggled to pick up wins on the Aggies’ home diamond. Furthermore, A&M found some momentum in Baton Rouge after opening conference play 1-5.
