There is no question which team key figures at Auburn want to see win the Super Bowl.
Auburn coach Gus Malzahn tweeted a photo from the stands Sunday at Levi’s Stadium, and he made it clear he was there to root for former Tigers hero Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers.

Newton became an Auburn legend when he won the Heisman Trophy and the national championship with the Tigers in 2010 . He’s not the only Auburn alum who has helped the Panthers reach Super Bowl 50. Running back Cameron Artis-Payne took over for the injured Jonathan Stewart for a few weeks during the regular season and performed well.
Auburn’s social media team changed the school’s online color scheme for the day to support Newton, Artis-Payne and the Panthers as well.
Tennessee did not switch to a different shade of orange to support Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos, though. Perhaps the Vols’ social media crew did not want to disrespect Panthers guard Chris Scott, who is also a Tennessee alum.
