It’s safe to says that things did not go as well as they could have for Auburn during the Tigers’ season opener against Clemson at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
And though it was the first game of the season, Auburn fans and foes alike were not willing to cut Malzahn much slack on social media. Between the lack of points scored and amount of quarterbacks being shuffled in and out of the game, it was easy for people to find things to criticize.
Here’s a look at some of the things that were being said about Malzahn on Saturday night:
Admit it. Gus is throwing darts to decide which QB to send in each play, isn't he?

I think Malzahn is just pulling random plays and formations out of a hat & calling them no matter the situation

Lots of coaches are overthinking QB situations this weekend. Gus Malzahn has turned it into art.

Gus Malzahn is doing something out there. Just don't know what it is. And neither does anyone else.

Gus Malzahn runs his offense like he's playing Madden, and I can respect that.

Malzahn needs to pick one quarterback, one philosophy, and just ride it. He’s confused his own team far more than Clemson tonight.

I don't understand what Gus Malzahn is doing with his quarterbacks. Pick one and stick with him for, I don't know, a series.
