With two weeks until signing day, and a busy weekend of official visits in the rearview mirror, several members of the Auburn coaching staff are set to raid the recruiting trail in full force this week.
Tigers coach Gus Malzahn is scheduled to make several in-home visits in the coming days. He’ll check in on four-star receiver and Auburn commit Eli Stove (Niceville, Fla.) on Thursday. He’ll be accompanied on the trip by another member of the Auburn staff, either receivers coach Dameyune Craig or offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee.
Malzahn is also expected to join defensive coordinator Kevin Steele, secondary coach Wesley McGriff and defensive line coach Rodney Garner to meet with Auburn commit Marlon Character (Atlanta, Ga.) on Tuesday. The three-star safety took an official visit to South Carolina over the weekend.
Malzahn will also make in-home visits with four-star brothers Nate Craig-Myers (Tampa, Fla.) and Jayvaughn Myers (Miami, Fla.) on Sunday. Both took official visits to Auburn over the weekend and appear to hold the Tigers in high regard.
Garner and Steele are expected to visit with three-star defensive end David Marshall (Thomaston, Ga.) on Wednesday. Marshall took an official visit to Auburn over the weekend and shored up his commitment to the Tigers. Garner will then check in with five-star defensive tackle Derrick Brown (Buford, Ga.) later that day.
This past Sunday, newly hired offensive line coach Herb Hand checked in on junior college offensive tackle Breontae Matthews of Fullerton College (Fullerton, Calif.).
Three-star defensive end Joshua Uche (Miami, Fla.) anticipates members of the Auburn staff dropping in either Wednesday or Thursday. He was one of the 11 recruits to take an official visit on the Plains over the weekend. Uche told SEC Country he is down to Auburn, Florida and Michigan.
