Auburn commemorates “Back to the Future” Day with photoshop of coaches
Countless articles and social media posts referencing “Back to the Future” Day populated the Internet on Monday, and the Auburn Tigers got in on the action.
The school posted this photoshopped picture of current football coaches Gus Malzahn (left) and Rhett Lashlee (right) as the two main characters from the movie trilogy on its Twitter account:

Not familiar with the “Back to the Future” trilogy?
In “Back to the Future II” the main characters “Doc” Brown (played by Christopher Lloyd) and Marty McFly (played by Michael J. Fox) used Brown’s time machine to travel to today’s date, Oct. 21, 2015. The first installment of the series was released in 1985 and the sequel debuted in 1989.
Many people have been waiting 26 years to celebrate today’s date. The film actually got some things right in terms of predicting the technology that would be around in 2015.
Every coach probably wished he had a time machine at some point like Brown and McFly. Perhaps, Malzahn and Lashlee would choose to go back to the 2014 National Championship Game, which Auburn lost to Florida State in the final seconds?
The picture will have to do for now.
