One of Auburn’s newest signees is just as athletic off the football field as he is on it.
Five-star defensive tackle Derrick Brown, who committed to the Tigers on last Wednesday’s National Signing Day, displayed his athleticism during a recent basketball practice at Lanier High School (Buford, Ga.) by catching a pass off the backboard and finishing it with a two-handed dunk.
And he did it at 6-foot-4 and 300-plus pounds.
Brown, who is rated as Auburn’s top commit in this year’s recruiting cycle, spurned Alabama, Tennessee and others by choosing the Tigers. He was the No. 1 prospect from the state of Georgia.
