It looks like at least one Auburn fan has had enough of Gus Malzahn.
A fan b has started a Gofundme page in hopes of raising $9 million so that Auburn has the funds to fire Malzahn.
“Gus Malzahn is a hardheaded, stubborn, unimaginative coach,” the fan wrote in a post. “He has taken a remarkably talented team and has been out-coached, out-schemed, and he’s underdeveloped players, generally leading the team to mediocrity over and over again.
“Apparently our flagship university can’t afford to buy him out of his contract, so I figured if we raised the money then they wouldn’t have any excuse as to why we can’t fire him.”
If Auburn chooses not to accept the money raised, the fan will donate the money to Toys for Tots. The post has zero donations at the time this article was posted.
Auburn has gotten off to a slow this year, dropping two of its first three games. Granted the two losses have come against No. 5 Clemson and No. 10 Texas A&M. Auburn takes on No. 18 LSU on Saturday.
Kickoff against LSU is set for 6:00 p.m ET on ESPN
