AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn football has only beaten rival Georgia twice in its last 11 meetings. However, those in Las Vegas think Gus Malzahn’s Tigers should take care of business in 2017 against Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs.
Auburn is an early 10-point favorite at the Golden Nugget sports book in Las Vegas for its home matchup against Georgia on Nov. 11. Auburn has only beaten Georgia by 10 or more points twice since 2000.
The line for the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry headlined a batch of new and updated ones for the Tigers’ 2017 season.
The Tigers are also favored by seven points for their road trip to Arkansas on Oct. 27. Auburn routed Arkansas by a score of 56-3 last season in Jordan-Hare Stadium, but the Tigers have lost three of their last four trips to Fayetteville.
The Golden Nugget isn’t as high on Auburn’s chances in matchups against LSU and Alabama, though. Auburn is a 6.5-point underdog to Alabama for the Nov. 25 Iron Bowl showdown on the Plains. LSU is a 7-point favorite at home to Auburn on Oct. 14.
Those point spreads were smaller last month when the South Point sportsbook released their early lines. But Auburn improved from a 7-point underdog to defending national champion Clemson at South Point to a 5.5-point underdog at the Golden Nugget.
