Gus Malzahn already working new AD

Allen Greene’s introductory news conference Friday morning went as smoothly as it could go.

The new leader of the Tigers’ athletics was personable, transparent and made his high aspirations for his department known.

After a brief statement in which Greene shared a little about his background and family, he took questions from members of the local media. It was during that question-and-answer period that Greene joked that Gus Malzahn has already requested a new (separate) football facility.

Auburn (17-2, 5-1) poured in 53 second-half points and held Georgia to just 25 points. The night ended with players standing at exits of the building thanking fans for helping the team earn its 11th consecutive win at Auburn Arena.

Another cool aspect of the win was that it came during new AD Allen Greene’s first sporting event and trip to Auburn Arena.

The newcomer was in the spotlight from the moment he walked in the building to a standing ovation. He met fans, took in the amazing atmosphere and got his first taste of what winning is like on The Plains.

Greene even got special access inside Auburn basketball’s locker room and got to help the team celebrate its comeback win.

Tweet of the day
