Auburn has dismissed senior RB Jovon Robinson from the team, Gus Malzahn announced today.
Robinson was expected to be the top running back in the lineup for Auburn this upcoming season. As a junior, he rushed for 639 yards and three touchdowns.
Robinson was rated the top junior college recruit in the nation out of Georgia Military College in 2015. He was also recruited heavily by Alabama, Louisville and Florida State.
Robinson is the second key running back to leave the program this offseason. Former Tiger Roc Thomas transferred to Jacksonville State during the offseason.
With the transfers, sophomore Kerryon Johnson (52 carries for 208 yards) is the leading returning rusher on the roster.
