Auburn basketball: All we do is win, win, win

Auburn basketball earned its 13th straight win against Ole Miss on Tuesday night.

Auburn Arena was rocking and every Tiger was prepared to step up and contribute. The Tigers didn’t get off to the best start but came back and ended the night with a 15-point victory over an athletic Ole Miss squad.

It was the most exciting Tuesday night The Plains has seen in awhile. Approximately 3,400 students piled into the student section to support the Tigers as they continued to tear through SEC play. Check out some of the highlights from the win over the Rebels:

Casey Mize is still great

Perfect Game/Rawlings still thinks Casey Mize is a force on the mound, which is why Mize was named a first-team All-American on Tuesday morning.

It’s the second preseason honor Mize has picked up prior to the 2018 season — the first was a second-team All-America mention by Collegiate Baseball in December.

It’s been awhile so think back to baseball season. Mize led Auburn with an 8-2 record and a 2.04 ERA, adding 109 strikeouts. The ERA was third in the SEC and 25th in the NCAA, while the strikeout total was the highest by an Auburn pitcher since 1999.

Butch Thompson’s Tigers will kick things off Feb. 16 at Plainsman Park when Longwood comes to The Plains. Single game and specialty pack tickets are still available.
