Hastings, who came to Auburn as a walk-on kicker, had 11 catches for 98 yards and one touchdown last season. He is vying for a role as a slot receiver in 2017.
King hasn’t recorded a catch in his college career, but he has worked at split end and punt returner during fall camp. He posted a message about his scholarship to Instagram on Thursday night:
I just want to start off by saying thank you to Coach Malzahn and the Auburn family for giving me the opportunity to achieve my goals ever since I was a kid: To play at a top D1 program and to earn a scholarship. I can’t begin to thank both of my parents enough for always being there for me. My mom and sister, Savannah, were always supportive and kept my confidence up. My dad always made sure I did what I needed to be doing (especially when I didn’t want to be doing it). I also want to thank my brother, Gray, for paving the way for smaller receivers to make an impact and have a role on this team. And finally, I want to thank all of my friends who have been there for me all throughout my time here at Auburn. There were times when things got tough and I thought about quitting, but I stuck it out because of y’all. Without all of you, there’s no way I would have accomplished what I have. I’m proud to be an Auburn Tiger! #WDE
Brown moved from offensive tackle to tight end in fall practice. He appeared in all 13 games last season for the Tigers on special teams and as a jumbo package tight end.
Sweeney, a junior who also received a scholarship last season, played in three games last fall.
Ritter, a senior, played in his first college game last season against Alabama A&M. Walker, who is the son of former Auburn and NFL player Gary Walker, played in three games last season. He recorded a safety against UL-Monroe and a tackle against Arkansas.
