Auburn football: Mark the calendar, football will be here before you know it

Auburn football is the No. 1 topic in the War Eagle Wakeup every day — but we cover news, notes and analysis from across the Tigers’ sports world. Join us each morning to get caught up on everything you missed in the world of Auburn football, recruiting, basketball and more.

April will be here sooner than you think

One of the best offseason announcements came on Wednesday: Auburn’s A-Day spring game will be played on April 7.

That’s when the Tigers will scrimmage inside Jordan-Hare Stadium and fans will get their first look at the 2018 team (it really is just a look; you won’t know much more after the game).

Spring practice will start at the end of February and fans will have a much better idea whom to keep an eye on as the game nears. Still, football is coming back soon, ladies and gentlemen.
