Auburn football opens as double-digit home favorite vs. Mississippi State

AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn football’s Week 4 was vastly different from Mississippi State, and Las Vegas showed it Sunday with its line for their Week 5 meeting.

No. 15 Auburn (3-1, 1-0 SEC) opened as a 10-point favorite over No. 24 Mississippi State (3-1, 1-1 SEC), according to Vegas Insider. This is the fourth time this season Auburn will be a double-digit favorite, with its only cover coming Saturday night in a 51-14 win at Missouri. Auburn is 1-3 against the spread this season.

Mississippi State lost its first game of the season Saturday night in a 31-3 blowout loss at now-No. 7 Georgia. It was the first time the Bulldogs have failed to cover the spread in 2017, as they closed as 2.5-point underdogs against Georgia.
