Auburn football: At least some upsets are better than others

Auburn football is the No. 1 topic in the War Eagle Wakeup every day — but we cover news, notes and analysis from across the Tigers’ sports world. Join us each morning to get caught up on everything you missed in the world of Auburn football, recruiting, basketball and more.

Down in Baton Rouge

There were few positives that came out of Auburn’s disappointing loss to LSU on Saturday.

Still, one thing stood out about the visitors. Fans in orange and blue were certainly outnumbered by those in purple and gold, but the passion was evident from both sides of the stadium.

Auburn fans were out of control (in a good way) as the Tigers gained their big lead in the first half and cheered their team on as they suffered a tough road loss.

On to the next one

Now, with its second loss of the season behind it, Auburn is on to Fayetteville.

The Tigers will face Arkansas next weekend and the game will air on SEC Network (6:30 p.m. CT).

Arkansas is coming off a physical blowout loss against Alabama, but Auburn needs to show out on the road and get back on track.

Soccer takes down Gators

Sometimes, however, upsets of top 10 teams are great.

Like when Auburn takes down No. 10 Florida on the Plains. It was the Tigers’ third straight win over the Gators in the last five games.

Senior forward Kristen Dodson scored her eighth goal of the season (it was also her fifth in the last five games).

Another awesome aspect of the upset was the performance of Sarah Le Beau. The junior goalkeeper put together one of her best games of the season, totaling 7 saves, on Kicks for MS night (Le Beau’s dad suffers from MS).
