Auburn will be without freshman Jordan Colbert next season.
The defensive back, who redshirted this season, announced that he will be transferring from the university, late Friday night, via Twitter.
“I wanna give thank to Auburn University and all the people I met during my time there with that being said my recruiting will be reopened,” he tweeted.
Colbert added that he would be pursuing the junior college route, and according to AL.com’s Wesley Sinor, he expects to play linebacker at Holmes Community College in Goodman, Miss.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder was a former four-star prospect out of Griffin (Ga.) High School, where he was rated as the No. 9 safety in the nation and No. 18 player in the state of Georgia for the 2015 class, per 247Sports’ Composite Ranking.
