Will Settle graduated from Auburn in 2002. He’s one of a very long line of males in his family.
The catch is that the line is only males, and it’s very long. For 137 years the Settle family only had boys born into its lineage. 137 years.
Until a month ago.
According to AL.com’s Jeremy Henderson, Settle and his wife Kelen welcomed in their daughter Carter on June 25. She is the first female born into the family in, one more time, 137 years.
And as you can see in the photo, Will brought his daughter into the world while repping a navy Auburn shirt. He hopes that she’ll make her dad proud again by cheering for the Tigers for her whole life.
“We’re definitely going to try for Auburn, for the Tigers, for sure,” Settle said.
Kelen graduated from Georgia, so the Auburn fandom for the one-in-137-years baby girl is not quite sealed, and Will is keeping an open mind.
“There are definitely some Auburn and Georgia onesies already,” he said.
