Auburn hosted a surprise visitor this weekend.
Marlon Character, whose been committed to the Tigers since November, is on The Plains for the second consecutive weekend, he confirmed to SEC Country. The three-star safety from Atlanta officially visited Auburn a week ago.
Days ago, Character’s father, Marlon, Sr., told SEC Country he felt the initial visit may have shored up his son’s commitment to the program. Character has been pursued in recent weeks by South Carolina and took an official visit to Columbia, S.C., two weeks ago.
“I tell him all the time, nothing is official until you sign something until it’s in ink,” his father said in the interview. “As far as the way he feels about Auburn, yes, he likes the school. Aside from the coaches doing the recruiting, his trainer said something to me. He said, ‘Marlon has fallen in love with Auburn.’”
Character visiting back-to-back weekends certainly bodes well for the Tigers, who have recruited him tirelessly.
