AUBURN, Ala. — After a historic rout of a team ranked higher than it in Week 8, Auburn is making a major move in the polls Sunday.
The Tigers’ 7-spot leap was the biggest in the coaches poll this weekend, and their 5-place jump in the AP poll was second behind fellow SEC West team LSU for the most positive movement in those rankings.
The Tigers’ Week 8 opponent, Arkansas, fell from that same No. 17 spot completely out of both polls after the blowout loss inside Jordan-Hare Stadium. The Razorbacks are now 30th in the coaches poll, well behind the top teams in the “others receiving votes” category.
Auburn’s Week 9 opponent, Ole Miss, also fell out of both polls following its 38-21 loss at LSU. The Rebels are 3-4 this season but are 3-1 inside Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, where the Tigers will travel to this upcoming Saturday (7:15 p.m. ET on SEC Network).
