Auburn kicker Daniel Carlson has apparently been working on his accuracy, not that he really needed to.
Carlson put his hard work on display in an incredible “trick kick” video posted on his Instagram on Saturday evening. In the video, Carlson teed up a football atop a hill near a house on Lake Martin. Waiting below the hill on the dock is fellow kicker Will Hastings to receive the incoming kick.
After receiving a signal from Hastings, Carlson boots two nearly-perfect “field goals” into Hastings’ waiting hands. Hastings jumps up into the air to grab the first ball before falling into the lake, and then gracefully falls backward into the lake for the second. After the second kick, Carlson joins him in the water, running down to the dock and putting the cherry on top of an awesome video with a killer front flip.
Carlson was extremely accurate last season, making an Auburn record 23 field goals and converting 85.2 percent of his attempts. He also owns school records for most consecutive field goals made (16) and most 50-yard field goals made in a season (four).
The Tigers will need Carlson to display that as much accuracy on game days. Check out the entire video below:
