Auburn senior linebacker Cassanova McKinzy had a scare in the Birmingham Bowl when he was helped off the field after a right knee injury. Fortunately for the senior, he should be ready for the NFL combine at the end of February.
McKinzy sustained a sprained MCL in his right knee and should be able to recuperate from the injury in three to four weeks, according to a report by AL.com’s James Crepea.
McKinzy registered 74 tackles, 10 for loss, a team-leading five sacks and 20 quarterback hurries this season. McKinzy is projected as a fifth-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, according to NFLDraftScout.com’s rankings.
