Auburn coach Gus Malzahn has already replaced three assistant coaches this offseason and now there will be a fourth.
Auburn offensive line coach J.B. Grimes will accept the same position at Cincinnati, according to a report by AL.com’s James Crepea.
Former Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville is the head coach at Cincinnati and Grimes’ son, Nick, is a graduate assistant with the Bearcats.
Grimes’ departure ends a four-season tenure under Malzahn, which stems back to 2012 when Malzahn was the head coach at Arkansas State.
Possible replacements for Grimes include Penn State offensive line coach Herb Hand and Arkansas State offensive line coach Glen Elarbee, according to the report.
Malzahn’s offenses were ranked in the top 30 nationally in three of Grimes’ four seasons on staff.
