Gametime Announcement

Mississippi State vs. Auburn

The kickoff time for Auburn’s Oct. 8 road game against Mississippi State was announced Monday.

The Tigers (2-2, 1-1 SEC) and Bulldogs (2-2, 1-1 SEC) will kick off at noon ET at Davis Wade Stadium. The game will be televised on SEC Network.

Auburn holds a commanding 61-26-2 lead in the all-time series against Mississippi State, but Dan Mullen’s Bulldogs have taken three of the last four meetings with the Tigers. Auburn will enter the matchup looking to avoid a 3-game skid against the SEC West rivals from Starkville.

Auburn defeated Mississippi State by a score of 24-20 in the 2013 season thanks to a last-minute touchdown pass from Nick Marshall to C.J. Uzomah. Last year’s matchup finished 17-9 in favor of the visiting Bulldogs.

Gus Malzahn’s Tigers will face Louisiana-Monroe this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET inside Jordan-Hare Stadium, wrapping up a 5-game home stand to start the 2016 season. Their trip to Starkville will be their first game away from home this season.

Auburn is coming off of its first SEC win of the season, an 18-13 thriller against LSU inside Jordan-Hare Stadium. The win was Auburn’s first conference win at home since Oct. 2014. Now, in order to move to above .500 in SEC play, the Tigers will need to succeed on the road.
