AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn’s biggest weekend of the 2017 recruiting cycle has come and gone.
The Tigers hosted 11 visitors this weekend, 8 commits and 3 targets, in their attempts to build on the 20-person class already in place. The three big targets were 4-star defensive lineman Ryan Johnson, 4-star linebacker Tyler Taylor and 3-star fullback Chase Lasater.
Auburn’s busy weekend came at a convenient time. Gus Malzahn hired offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey over the weekend, which allowed the new play-caller to meet four visiting recruits, as well as the offensive enrollees already on campus.
5-star offensive line commit Calvin Ashley took his official visit this weekend, which the Tigers hope solidifies his commitment once and for all.
