AUBURN, Ala. — Although the difference in Top 25 rankings is expected to be narrow, the point spread for the Week 8 matchup between Auburn and Arkansas is not.
According to Vegas Insider, Auburn opened as a 9-point favorite against Arkansas on Sunday. The Tigers and the Razorbacks are set to meet this upcoming Saturday inside Jordan-Hare Stadium (6 p.m. ET, ESPN).
Auburn (4-2, 2-1 SEC) took Week 7 off after winning three straight games, including ones over SEC West rivals LSU and Mississippi State. The Tigers are 5-1 against the spread this season and had the best ATS margin (8.5) of any team in the SEC heading into Saturday’s action.
Arkansas (5-2, 1-2 SEC) is coming off a 34-30 home upset over Ole Miss that snapped a two-game losing skid in conference play and a run of three straight losses against the spread. The Razorbacks are 2-2 as underdogs this season with their wins coming against TCU and Ole Miss.
The Tigers are 12-11-1 all-time against the Razorbacks since the two schools became SEC rivals in 1992. Arkansas has won three out of its last five games against Auburn, including a 54-46 multi-overtime win last season.
