The 6-foot-5, 260-pound Coe is from Asheboro High School (Asheboro, N.C.). He was also primarily considering North Carolina and Virginia Tech. He is rated the No. 16 strongside defensive end in the nation and the No. 14 prospect in North Carolina by 247Sports.
Earlier this week, Auburn picked up a commitment from 5-star receiver Kyle Davis from Archer High School (Lawrenceville, Ga.). Auburn now has 17 commitments for the 2016 class.
