USA Basketball is a heavy favorite to win the gold medal in the Olympics later this summer.
It probably will be favorites for years to come, given the results of the under-17 USA team on Sunday.
The U-17 team, made up of some of the top high school players in the country, including Auburn commit Austin Wiley, cruised to a gold medal in a 96-56 romp over Turkey at the FIBA U-17 World Championships.
Wiley finished the championship game with six points and four rebounds. The 40-point victory was the largest margin of victory in the history of the U-17s.
The USA is 30-0 all-time at the U-17 championship. Wiley is part of the reason the Tigers also have the No. 1 recruiting class for the class of 2017. Wiley is the No.15 player in the country according to 247Sports Composite ranking and is a 6-foot-10 power forward.
