Kyle Davis, the consensus No. 1 receiver in this year’s class, announced Wednesday morning he had committed to Auburn over UGA and Tennessee.
SEC Country reached out to a few Auburn commits and targets to gauge their reaction to the news.
Check them out below:
David Marshall, DE, Upson-Lee (Thomaston, Ga.), committed to Auburn — “We needed him to become an Auburn Tiger. He’s going to be a big player for us on offense.”
Marlon Character, DB, Grady (Atlanta, Ga.), committed to Auburn — “I saw it. I’m excited to play with him. He’s a great receiver from playing against him in the Rising Seniors game.”
Jamyest Williams, 2017 athlete, Archer (Lawrenceville, Ga.), Undecided — “I knew he was leaning towards them. (Kyle) is a great physical guy with good hands. They are getting a guy that can stretch the field. Great route runner. People criticize his hands because of drops, but trust me, his hands are as good as anybody’s in the country. I know because we battle in practice from time to time.”
Brodarious Hamm, OL, Spalding (Griffin, Ga.), committed to Auburn — “That’s just another step in the right direction.”
John Broussard, CB, Central (Phenix City, Ala.), committed to Auburn — “Our class is getting stronger and stronger. He’s a great player.”
Mecole Hardman, ATH, Elbert County (Elberton, Ga.), Undecided — “They’re getting a great player that is going to work hard and be ready to come play right away from Day 1.”
Breon Dixon, 2017 LB, Peachtree Ridge (Lawrenceville, Ga.), Undecided — “I think it’s a good fit and he’ll go there and take the spot of the No. 1 (receiver) they had. They’re getting a great player for their system.”
