The Catalina Wine Mixer is one of the most quotable one-liners to come from the classic Will Ferrell comedy “Step Brothers.”
Apparently, it’s a powerful recruiting tool, too.
Auburn offensive line coach Herb Hand created a movie poster fitting for only Tyler Catalina.
The 6-foot-6, 290-pound Rhode Island offensive tackle was portrayed as the star of “War Eagle,” in which Catalina and Hand’s faces were depicted in the place of Ferrell and co-star John C. Reilly in the poster, according to AL.com’s Brandon Marcello.
Catalina has drawn plenty of interest from SEC schools. In addition to Auburn, UGA and Florida have both contacted in the offensive lineman.
The FCS transfer is scheduled to take an official visit to Auburn next weekend, but whether he will be placed in charge of setting up the Catalina Wine Mixer remains to be seen.
While it didn’t exactly work out for Ferrell in the film, Hand and the rest of the Tigers coaching staff may be hoping the Catalina Wine Mixer next weekend produces a happy ending comparable to the one featured in “Step Brothers.”
If not, this movie poster is certainly a keepsake for Catalina to hold onto for some time.
