Auburn won’t be hosting a bevy of official visitors this weekend, but it will certainly be in the presence of a few notable key targets with signing day just around the corner.
Four-star safety Nigel Warrior (Atlanta, Ga.) will conclude his official visit on Friday after arriving on Thursday with his mother. The mid-week trip was decided on following an in-home visit with coach Gus Malzahn and several members of the Tigers coaching staff on Tuesday. Warrior’s mother, Tangie, said on Wednesday that Auburn’s clear need at defensive back was appealing to her son, who was deciding whether to use his final official visit to check in on the Bulldogs or Tigers. He chose the latter.
Another coveted Georgia prospect is set to be on the Plains this weekend. Four-star offensive tackle E.J. Price (Lawrenceville, Ga.) made a last-minute adjustment to his January itinerary earlier in the week. Originally, he was scheduled to visit the Tigers on Jan. 29. Price, an Under Armour All-American, appears to still hold Auburn in high regard despite excluding the program from his list of top schools in late December.
Auburn commit Marlon Character (Atlanta, Ga.) was originally scheduled to officially visit Virginia Tech this weekend, but an impending weather storm forced him to mix it up. Instead, the three-star safety will head to the Plains this weekend. The one-time South Carolina commit was visited in-home by several members of the Auburn coaching staff on Tuesday. It came on the heels of his official visit to South Carolina on Jan. 15. Character told SEC Country in a recent interview that coach Will Muschamp and the Gamecocks still have a chance to land his signature.
