Given the current vacancies on Auburn’s defensive coaching staff, it would be reasonable for a recruit to feel a little uneasy.
But that certainly can’t be said of Tre Threat, a 3-star outside linebacker from Spanish Fort High School (Ala.) who announced that he signed his financial aid agreement papers on Wednesday evening. Doing so allows the 6-foot-2, 235-pound Threat to enroll early and participate in spring practice with the Tigers.
“Just finished signing my scholarship papers! It’s a done deal ?” he tweeted.
Threat, who also reported offers from Alabama, LSU and Ole Miss, never seemed likely to go elsewhere since committing to Auburn in April, having unofficially visited the school multiple times before taking his only official trip to the Plains last weekend. He is rated the No. 19 prospect in Alabama.
