After a dominant weekend at the plate in Auburn softball’s first-ever road sweep of rival Georgia, junior catcher Carlee Wallace is now the reigning SEC player of the week.
The conference announced Wallace as the weekly award winner Tuesday afternoon. She is the second Auburn softball player to win the award this season, joining senior shortstop Haley Fagan.
Wallace went 7-for-13 at the plate against Georgia with three extra base hits, including a leadoff home run in the Tigers’ Game 2 rout of the Bulldogs. The junior catcher nearly hit for the cycle in Game 2 in a 4-RBI contest.
Congrats to Carlee Wallace for being named the @SEC Player of the Week! ?

After a move up to the leadoff batting spot earlier this season, Wallace has a batting average of over .400, with 18 of her 33 hits being of the extra-base variety. She leads Auburn in three major hitting categories this season — batting average (.382), on-base percentage (.508) and slugging percentage (.725).
Wallace and the No. 5 Auburn softball team return to action Wednesday night in a nonconference road game against Samford at 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT. The Tigers open a three-game home series against Ole Miss on Friday.
