Absolute best tweets of spring football
Spring football is tricky. It’s a time for players to improve and build a foundation for fall, but it’s also a time when fans and media don’t really get to see what’s going on behind closed doors.
Fortunately, social media has changed the game a little bit, capturing some of the best moments in a memorable way.
While several moments proved funny or intriguing this spring, the following are two of the absolute best. The first comes from ESPN’s Laura Rutledge, who attempted to interview coach Gus Malzahn right before the A-Day spring game.

The second moment is courtesy of SEC Country’s Benjamin Wolk. Malzahn doesn’t love providing details or showing too much of what his football team is really working on. Most of all, though, Malzahn isn’t a fan of A-Day spring game tunnel smoke. No, seriously.

Keep watching Casey Mize
Auburn baseball fell to Samford in Birmingham, Ala., on Tuesday night, but there was some good news for the Tigers.
Junior pitcher Casey Mize was named to the Golden Spikes midseason watch list when it was announced by USA Baseball. Mize is one of just three players to be named to the list for the second straight season. So far this season, the Springville, Ala., native is 6-1 (2.17 ERA) and leads the SEC with 77 strikeouts.
On March 9, Mize threw Auburn’s ninth no-hitter in program history against Northeastern and struck out a career-high 13 batters. One week later, Mize matched his career strikeout total like it was nothing in the Tigers’ SEC opener against Texas A&M.
He’s a bad, bad man.
1️⃣ of 3️⃣ to be named to the @USAGoldenSpikes midseason watch list back-to-back years.
Congrats, @caseymize04. 👊
