Saturday is Senior Night for the Auburn Tigers as they face Alabama A&M, meaning another season is nearing its end. For former Auburn sports information director Buddy Davidson, it’s safe to say watching the Tigers play at Jordan Hare Stadium is a familiar feeling:

You read that right — 692 straight games. You might be a diehard fan yourself, but you probably can’t compete with that kind of dedication. That’s every game, home and away, for seven decades.
Sure, being a former SID certainly helped to keep that streak alive, but you’d think something would’ve popped up over the years. The flu, a wedding, a death in the family … something. But nothing has kept Davidson from attending a Tigers football game since that streak began with a 48-7 Auburn victory over Houston in 1957.
What an awesome story.
If you run into Davidson during next year’s game against Ole Miss, be sure to wish him a happy 700th.
