AUBURN, Alabama — Auburn is keeping it close to home on its satellite tour after all.
The Tigers are now set for at least three camps in June, with the latest date featuring a partnership with FCS program Mercer in Macon, Georgia.
Auburn is one of four SEC programs scheduled to send coaches to the event scheduled for June 3 and 4. Auburn has not yet made it clear which coaches it will be sending to camps in Stockbridge, Georgia (June 9) and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (June 3). Auburn coach Gus Malzahn has not yet announced if he will attend the camps.
Auburn is scheduled to host Mercer for a non-conference football game in 2017. The Tigers will pay the Bears $450,000 for visiting Jordan-Hare Stadium.
The NCAA rescinded its ban on satellite camps April 28. The SEC’s ban on camps will be lifted May 29.
Malzahn said he hopes to finalize plans for the Tigers’ satellite camps this week.
