AUBURN, Ala. — The kickoff time for Auburn’s third nonconference game of the 2016 season, a matchup with Sun Belt opponent Louisiana-Monroe, has been announced.
Auburn is set to kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on SEC Network Alternate on Oct. 1. The Tigers take on rival LSU on this Saturday, with the game set to start at 6 p.m. ET.
The Tigers will be hoping their second game of the season against a Sun Belt team is as good as their first was in 2016. Auburn picked up a 51-14 win over Arkansas State in Week 2, nearly breaking a school record for offensive yardage in the process.
This will be the 10th meeting between Auburn and UL-Monroe in a series that stretches back to the 1994 season. The Tigers are undefeated all-time against the Warhawks, and they played three straight years on two separate occasions.
In Auburn’s last meeting against Louisiana-Monroe in 2012, the Tigers needed overtime to knockoff the Warhawks at home. ULM is 4-42-1 all-time against SEC opponents, with past wins coming against Kentucky (1994), Mississippi State (1995), Alabama (2007) and Arkansas (2012).
