AUBURN, Ala. — While Hurricane Matthew won’t have any effect on the playing of Auburn vs. Mississippi State this weekend, it will play a part in a change of how it’s televised.
The SEC announced Thursday afternoon the Auburn vs. Mississippi State game scheduled for a noon ET kickoff this Saturday has been moved from the SEC Network to ESPN.
The change comes after the postponement of LSU vs. Florida due to Hurricane Matthew. The LSU vs. Florida game was originally slated for the ESPN broadcast, but it will no longer be played this Saturday.
According to a release from the SEC, play-by-play announcer Tom Hart, color commentator Andre Ware and sideline reporter Cole Cubelic remain the broadcast crew for the game with the network change.
The road trip to Starkville, Miss., will mark the fourth time Auburn has played on ESPN this season. The Tigers lost to Clemson in Week 1 and Texas A&M in Week 3 on the major network. Auburn’s 18-13 win over LSU in Week 4 was also on ESPN.
