Auburn sent out a string of offers on Thursday, one of which was to a five-star receiver out of California.
Tyjon Lindsey, the No. 5 receiver in the country for 2017, picked up offer No. 16 from the Tigers. Shortly thereafter, he hinted Auburn would be among his top schools.
The 5-foot-9, 165-pound rising senior from Corona, Calif., is rated as the No. 1 prospect in the state. Lindsey transferred from Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) to Centennial High School in the spring.
Earlier on Thursday, the program also extended an offer to another five-star receiver in Tee Higgins (Oak Ridge, Tenn.).
Auburn signed arguably one of the more impressive receiver classes in the country in the 2016 cycle, one that included three four-star receivers. The program is likely hoping to build on that momentum in this year’s recruiting cycle.
